SLOWING DOWN BY GOING HARD

We live in a society where it is all about performing. This is a logic cause that all have our moments that we can explode: from stress, frustration, anger or whatsoever. Some common ways to counter this are yoga and mindfulness. Don’t get me wrong, I practice Pilates, a little different, but still I definitely do know the benefits from such body exercises. And I can’t deny that it makes me feel relaxed and recharged afterwards. So did I try mindfulness and meditation, once… Well let’s not even go down there, that’s just not my cup of tea.
Anyway, the point I want to make today is that I came across this news article a few days ago about Rage Yoga. And Rage Yoga stands for everything that is the exact opposite of ‘’normal’’ yoga: shout, scream, curse and anything else that feels as a massive relieve. And I don’t know about you guys, but to me that sounds awesome! I think, (however I haven’t tried it yet) that Rage Yoga will work much better for me in times of stress and pressure. I don’t want to be super relaxed when my mind keeps on running: that makes me lazy and less productive for the rest of the day, as I’ve experienced with Pilates. I need an energy-boost and a clear mind every now and than to keep on going, I can imagine that Rage Yoga offers an exhaust valve and clear mind at the same time: slowing down by going hard.
Imagine how this can improve the Quality of Life in these times of pressure to perform, in times where we all are so focused on achieving the very best version of ourselves, in the shortest time possible. In times were the burn-outs among young professionals is an increasing social problem. If all these people would practice Rage Yoga one hour a week, if they would just take one hour to not be serious and let everything go, wouldn’t that brighten everything up a little?
