ecologic camping palulu

This all-eco camping is located in an hour away from the bustling Paramaribo yet right in the jungle. It’s the only camping in the country which makes it a niche because in Suriname the tourism is still limited compared to other countries.

Everything is ecologic: there is no electricity, no hypermodern kitchen and for the sanitation there is only a little building. It’s all about the experience of the nature. The nature wakes you up, and the nature brings you to sleep. During your stay you can go on a caiman tour and you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of the nature. You will sleep in a hammock in a pinahut.

Palulu definitely has future growth potential because it is back to basic and it gives you the opportunity to experience the nature during your spare time. Especially for people who don’t have the jungle next door it would be an amazing experience.

interactive window shopping

A change in the future of retail: interactive window shopping! Interactive window shopping is not particularly new because the brand Ralph Lauren already developed one. However, scientists in Fraunhofer Institute for Telcommunications are trying to bring interactive window shopping to a new level by means of working on a more hi-tech version.

The term ‘window shopping’ will get a whole different meaning. The interactive screens can follow your hand gestures which makes it possible to collect your items on the screen. But that’s not all: the screen also remembers what the most purchases have been and shows you the latest trends related on shopping! What also is a fun fact is that you can even shop after the physical shop has closed which gives you a 24/7 shop experience!

We already see that the past few years online retail is in attendance. With interactive window shopping retail has the potential to be much more digitized in the future.

Tell a story

Imagine that you’re in a small Portuguese town, on your way to the beach. You didn’t take a book from home. Suddenly you see a little van with a sign on the roof. You decide to take a closer look and see that it’s a travelling bookstore. You buy a book from a Portuguese writer and experience a wonderful day at the beach…

Just a story what can happen if you run across this van. A travelling bookstore called Tell a story. This bookstore makes Portuguese literature more accessible to tourist. The story behind this van is to create a place for visitors where Portuguese literature is still important. Besides the importance of the literature it also is a new cool way to bring books to people instead of getting people to books.

Nowadays people want to live back to basic, which is a great opportunity for initiatives like ‘Tell a story’. I’ve seen with my own eyes what the success of a van like this can be. During my last vacation in Portugal I saw a travelling store, also in a van, they sold books, cd’s, movies and coffee.

designercafé

The DesignerCafe is a meetingplace for upcoming Dutch designers and fashionlovers. The collections of the designers are being produced, displayed and sold in the DesignerCafe. I think this is a new and cool way to discover new styles. It also is a unique chance to see how the collections are being produced.

If you are interested in design and fashion you can join various workshops about styling and design. You also can join other events organised by the DesignerCafe, for instance Designer Sunday. During this day one of the designers is in the spotlights. They’ll be working on new products the entire day and you can ask all your questions.
