For my internship I currently am in South Africa and I recently attended the seminar Business of Design, at this seminar people from the design industry from (South) Africa gave lectures about their vision on design. It was a very inspiring day and good for my networking skills. At this day, I heard about Stand 47: a company who believes that a house can make you feel better, that a house is more than just a safe shelter. They understand a house should make you feel happier, healthier and maybe even wealthier.

As a concept developer I believe it is most important that you can convince your target group of the benefits of your product or service. With integrity, not with marketing shoved down their throat. They need to trust you. And how to do that better than taking them by the hand and a sustainable relationship during the process? Stand 47 takes pilots and lets people sleep and live in the concept-house for a weekend so they can experience how it is to live in a energy efficient house. It's a very high-involved process that Stand 47 uses to improve the Quality of Life of its potential residents, and to reduce the ecological footprint of many, many people.
Stand 47 inspired me because they find a very effective way to basically sell their values. To convince with honesty, to let them experience what the people behind Stand 47 stand for. To promote sustainable living.
