BENE-VITA, FOR A BALANCED LIFESTYLE

For my internship at More Than Food I have recently held an interview with Mrs. Kahn, co-founder of Bene-Vita. Bene-Vita is a wellness company focussing on LCHF diets (Low Carb High Fat) and provides 100% pure Halal food, to reduce lifestyle diseases such as obesity and metabolic syndrome. This interesting combination was my motive to interview them to find out more about their brand and their vision on Quality of Life.

Due to rights I did not post the interview on my own blogpost, but you can read it here.

In the interview Mrs. Kahn represents the Muslim community in Cape Town. Regarding Mrs. Matthews most shops in Cape Town only offer Halal-friendly products, instead of pure Halal food. To a lot of Muslim (especially moms) this is a pain because a lot of them are strict religious and therefore only consume 100% pure Halal. Mrs. Matthews noted that the Muslim moms felt the explicit need to prepare healthy, Halal food for their families. Besides the scare supply of 100% Halal food I also saw a pain in the healthy part: the Muslim-kitchen contains a lot of sugar (Baklava, Shebekia, Seffa to name but a few) and is mainly prepared in sunflower oil which causes lifestyle- diseases such as metabolic syndrome and obesity.

To respond to the gain, the need for healthy Halal food of this mentality group (Re Mrs. Matthews:

Muslim women with children living at home - the same morals, values and beliefs - located in Cape Town) Mrs. Kahn and Mrs. Matthews (co-founder) decided to start Bene-Vita that anticipates on the pains of this mentality group. With Bene-Vita they contribute to the Quality of Life of the mentality group regarding the Physical Wellbeing (health) and Material Wellbeing (food/meals) Felce and Perry
